Thank you Berkley Romance for my eARC of Beach Read! Out now!

This was my first book by Emily Henry and I adored every second of it!! As I mentioned before, I’ve been struggling with contemporary romance since coronavirus started. A lot didn’t distract me from the real world enough to hold my attention, but the ones that worked for me (aka all my recent contemporary romance posts!) REALLY worked for me! Beach Read was like a breath of fresh air. Something about this story was so delightful and new.

I was immediately entranced by the characters and found the banter between the two to be exactly what I needed when I read it a few weeks ago. I adored the chemistry between January and Gus so much! It felt realistic and it was really hard not to feel attached to their characters. Gus was totally swoon worthy in my opinion 🥰 Beach Read is only told from January’s POV, and I would have loved some insight into Gus’ thoughts (I’m always team duel POV). But I completely loved the book regardless!

This story has so much heart and emotion, but still has some funny moments. However it is not the rom-com it appears to be with this cute cover. There’s definitely quite a few heavier moments as both January and Gus death with grief. But I loved every second of this book and recommend it highly!

If you loved other contemporary romances/women’s fiction like Love and Other Words, Love Lettering, and The Simple Wild, this one gave me very similar swoony/obsessed/can’t get enough feelings as I read it!

Beach Read was a five star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read for me, and one of my favorite reads of 2020 so far! 💜 Kellisa
