Review: Get a Life, Chloe Brown
I finally ready Get a Life, Chloe Brown! And I loved it 🥰
Rating: Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
This was my first book from Talia Hibbert and I totally understand why everyone raves about her work. Her writing was like curling up with a fuzzy blanket and watching a delightful British rom-com.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about Chloe Brown until halfway through the book. The first part was very slow burn with lots of character building. The scenes where Chloe and Red weren’t on the page together had me questioning a few times if I liked it. But somewhere around 55-60% I fell totally in love with them and this story ðŸ˜
I love reading about characters with chronic illnesses, but I’m always a tad worried authors won’t get the representation right. Granted I have cystic fibrosis and not fibromyalgia, but Hibbert totally nailed living with a chronic illness in general. The accurate descriptions of spoons/spoonie theory especially had me cheering (for example today I woke up with very few spoons, thus why this is only a mini review 🙃) I identified a little too much with Chloe and her skeptical grumpiness. The way Chloe’s family and Red treated her was so well done.
I love love loved the chemistry between Chloe and Red. So many delightful swoon moments! The healing that both characters experience through the book made it impossible not to love them. I cried a couple of times 😠I’m so glad I finally read this one, but I cannot wait to read Dani Brown’s book! I’m planning to read it soon and I’m *very* excited 💜 Kellisa
