Contemporary Romance Recommendations: part two
Here are two more contemporary romances I read recently and really enjoyed! 💜 Kellisa
✨The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai—It’s no secret that Alisha Rai’s Forbidden Hearts trilogies is one of my all time favorites (please read them if you haven’t!) And I was thrilled when she came out with a spin-off series. And then I delayed reading it for…a long ass time. I finally read The Right Swipe and I enjoyed it so much! I love that the heroine of this one was a character I knew from Hurts to Love You, and I loooooved the setting of this story. It was great to read about an area of the California coast that I love visiting (since no vacation is one thing we will not be doing in 2020). Sometimes the romance did feel a little secondary to other aspects of the story, but I didn’t mind! There were still some steamy moments and I really enjoyed how the heavier aspects of the story were handled.
CW: grief, loss, CTE, sexual harassment
✨ You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle—If you love marriage in trouble romances as much as I do, You Deserve Each Other is a must read! The characters are engaged and planning their wedding when their relationship starts to fall apart. I had so many laugh out loud moments while reading this. The hero’s mother is completely over the top, the pranks between the couple are borderline obscene at points, and I definitely thought they should just break up for at least 40% (if not more) of the book. But I LOVED it so much in the end! I really enjoyed Hogle’s writing style and how the book flowed. And if I wasn’t hooked already it had one of my *favorite* scenes that could be in a romance, where one character takes care of the other. Talk about swoon!
