Review: Her Aussie Holiday

If you’re missing traveling this summer and are itching to take a trip to Australia, I highly suggest trying Her Aussie Holiday by Stefanie London! This contemporary romance was such a delightful (and steamy!) read!

Cora Cabot escapes to Australia in an attempt to take a break from her stressful New York life and family. Cora thinks she’s simply swapping houses with her friend to have some alone time to work on her novel, but when she arrives she’s surprised to find her friend’s brother living in the house as well. Trent Walters is equally shocked to find a mysterious American in his sisters house, especially one that immediately floods the bathroom and destroys his parents anniversary gift.

Her Aussie Holiday is the second book in the Patterson’s Bluff series, but both this book and The Aussie Next Door can be read as a standalone. The heroes in both books are brothers, so in both stories you get to see the fantastic Walters’ family. I sincerely hope there will be more books in this series with the other siblings because this family is so great!

The opening scene where Cora and Trent meet is so great. It’s total and complete chaos for the first few chapters they’re in the house and I loved it. I mean, any book that has a scene where the heroine is showering a hottie, I am completely okay with! I love any story with forced proximity (especially unexpected house sharing!) and the tension between Cora and Trent was perfect. I trust when I read one of Stefanie’s books it will bring the steam, and Her Aussie Holiday definitely does! I adored the chemistry and banter between Cora and Trent. And if you love romances with quirky animals,  Joe the cockatoo was a great addition to the book. Both Cora and Trent have some messy backgrounds, I wish the book was a little longer and dived into more of their histories. I didn’t *love* that one of Trent’s issues was that Cora looked identical to his ex girlfriend, but I thought by the end it was handled pretty well.

Overall, Her Aussie Holiday was a really great end of summer read. If you’re looking for a fun contemporary romance with steam, forced proximity, and low angst, I highly suggest trying this one!
